Lewisville ISD is aware of the false article that was authored by Steve Southwell, Editor-in-Chief of the Lewisville Texan Journal. While we understand this article was written as an April Fool’s Joke, it is false and unsubstantiated. We understand that this has caused frustration and confusion amongst our staff, students, community and former administrators.
Please know LISD’s Office of Public Information and Community Relations has reached out to Mr. Southwell, requesting he retract his article and remove it from his website immediately.
As we tell our students, jokes should be funny for all – not just for one. If you feel so inclined, please feel free to contact The Lewisville Texan Journal at (469) 322-4265.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact LISD’s Office of Public Information and Community Relations: (469) 948-8152.
We appreciate Mr. Southwell responding to the District and updating his post with a disclaimer that this article was indeed an April Fool's joke.
